Do you have refugee clients whose mental health you're concerned about? Don't know how to approach them or unsure of who to refer to?

In partnership with Hong Fook and the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (CCVT), OCASI

Is pleased to offer in-person, 2-day training sessions on Refugee Mental Health and Trauma to front-line immigrant services providers in the Ottawa area.

The Purpose of the training is to:

  • Increase knowledge of mental health issue and migration

  • Increase awareness of the significance of early identification of mental health issues and coping strategies

  • Increase knowledge of culturally competent approach

  • Understand the impact of trauma

  • Increase knowledge of compassionate communication

  • Increase awareness of self-care as service providers

When: Wednesday December 7th and Thursday December 8th, 2016

Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm both days
